About Us
Launched in 2019 in Montreal, Woodborn Studio has evolved from a boutique studio focused on crafting custom furniture pieces into a full-service studio helping clients through every stage of the design and installation process.
Our passion for woodworking and quality craftsmanship still guides every aspect of our approach; we strive to create captivating spaces with durable materials and quality design.
Our Approach
Your vision is our vision!
Your home should be the place where you feel relaxed, inspired, and most importantly, comfortable; our team is here to design, plan, and create your dream space.
Whether you're hoping for a more functional or decorative space, we use our craft to bring your ideas to life.
We meticulously select our materials and use a combination of traditional and modern techniques to add a bit of magic to every project.
Renovation projects can be stressful – but at Woodborn, we help you enjoy the process, not just the outcome.
We’d love to hear about your next project!
Meet the founders
Samir Murr
Founder, Woodworker
Growing up in a family entrenched in the marble industry for decades, Samir cultivated a strong eye for detail and a profound appreciation for artisanal craftsmanship. His relocation to Montreal to pursue architectural studies introduced him to woodworking, where he eagerly embraced the opportunity to learn new techniques and explore the medium.
Samir’s journey starting with small items all the way to renovations and full scale design executions has led him to explore new techniques from various sources, continuously refining his skills and craftsmanship.
Georges Sabbagh
Co-founder, Operations
In a coincidental turn of events, Georges moved to Pointe-Saint-Charles in 2021, right in front of Samir’s workshop. He needed a custom dining table designed for his condo’s kitchen space and that was their very first project together. And as they say, the rest is history! He has since graduated from customer, to friend, to business partner.
With a background in software engineering, his role at Woodborn is to optimize all of the business processes and take care of back-office management tasks so that Samir can focus on the art — and on delighting our customers!
